Barnes & Noble and Borders Bookstores

One of Mike’s and my favorite things to do is go to bookstores, namely Borders or Barnes and Noble, to hang out. Sometimes we’ll just walk around and look at books we want, check out the magazines and music, etc. Sometimes we’ll each grab a book or two to look through, and then we find a couple chairs in the café or spread around the store to just sit and read. (I’ve actually read entire books this way, over a period of several days of doing this.) When it’s cold outside I like to get some hot chocolate and a chocolate chip cookie and just sip it while we sit and read.

Whether we go to Barnes and Noble or Borders usually depends on our mood. Barnes and Noble is closer to us, so we go there when we don’t feel like driving much, or if we want to walk there from home. Borders is open an hour later on the weekends, though, so we’ll go there if it’s nighttime and we want to have a bit more time there. If we go to Borders, we also like to walk around the Riverwoods or the Provo river.

Borders in Provo is a T-Mobile hot spot, meaning you can buy access to the internet there. Barnes and Noble has children’s storytime on Saturdays and a writers’ discussion group–click here to find out more if you’re interested in either of those. Borders is located in the Riverwoods, on University Avenue just before you get to Provo Canyon, and Barnes and Noble is on University Parkway in the same shopping center with Mimi’s Café and Office Max.

  1. Note: Turn EAST when you get off the I-15 exit, not west

  2. I am just curious if you think that nielsen’s grove would be a good place for a wedding? I have always wanted an outside wedding and have seen some pictures online of this park. It’s so beautiful anyway if you have any advice that would be great you can email me at sharlkyay143@aol.com
