To get wait list tickets, they give out numbers 2 hours prior to movie time. So, for example, for a 3 p.m. film you need to be in line no later than 1 p.m. After you get your wait list number you have to come back no later than 30 minutes before the film starts, and get in line in numerical order. You must be in line 30 minutes prior because they cut the line off, and if you’re not in line by then it doesn’t matter what number you have, you have to go to the back of the line. If seats are available, you exchange your wait list number for a movie ticket. Tickets cost $15, cash only.

Spanky’s Express - Pleasant Grove
Here in the Fork (the American one) we’ve been blessed lately with an abundance of new and fun places to go for eating and entertainment. With national chains like the Olive Garden and Paradise bakery opening in the last couple of months, along with several local eateries, life has been good. This past summer [...]
Ogden City’s Christmas Village
Ogden City’s Christmas Village is located on historic 25th Street and Washington Blvd. There are at least 50 cottages (including a replica of Union Station), sponsored by local businesses. The Christmas Village cottages are lit each night from 5 p.m. to midnight until January 1, 2009. Admission is free. This winter or next, definitely put this on your Christmas list of things to do!
Short and Sweet: Candy Windows and Pulled Pork in Downtown Provo
I wanted to do something festive. I had 45 minutes to kill, an active five-year-old in tow, and a grumbling stomach. I decided to forgo the drive-thru and double cheeseburgers for a stroll along Provo’s Center Street. In general, I avoid downtown Provo. I grew up in a small town and have a very low tolerance for traffic congestion. But I thought my son, a true candy-lover, would appreciate the much publicized candy window displays.
Christmas Lights at Temple Square–Salt Lake City
Christmas lights on Temple Square. Isn’t that something everybody does this time of year? You know, like one night your family walks out to the garage and gets in the car, your favorite holiday music just starts playing on the radio, the car backs out of the driveway (without you spilling a drop of [...]
The Salomon Center in Ogden
Saturday night I discovered The Salomon Center in Ogden. It’s a shopping center—parts of which are still under construction—at 2261 Kiesel Ave., and it has some really fun and unique things to do. I’m sure you’ve seen indoor rock climbing before, but what about indoor surfing and skydiving? I hadn’t either.
Halloween Cruise on the Provo River
Confession. I’d been itching to take this boat ride since last year, when my husband flatly refused. He’s a big guy and was worried about the seaworthiness of the vessel.
The Riverwoods–Provo
The Shops at Riverwoods is an outdoor mall right on the corner of University Avenue and 4800 N, which turns into Orem Center St. There are lots of stores and restaurants there–there are clothing stores, like Abercrombie & Fitch, the Buckle, Victoria’s Secret, and Kaleidoscope (none of which are cheap stores, for the record); there’s a yoga studio called It’s Yoga, an art store, Bath & Body Works, a children’s clothes store, and lots of other retailers; there’s Macaroni Grill, Happy Sumo (a fantastic Asian restaurant), Tucano’s Brazilian Grill, Bajio’s, Subway, and a few other restaurants, and a Hogi Yogi across the parking lot from the theater. Sometimes we’ll see a movie at the Wynnsong theater, too, which has been recently redecorated inside.
Ogden Valley Annual Hot-Air Balloon Festival and Night Glow
After attending the early morning balloon launch, we headed over to the Wolf Creek Resort, site of the 2008 Ogden Valley Balloon Festival. The festival didn’t start until 9 a.m. so to kill a little time between the launch (which ended by 8 a.m.) and the festival, we ate a picnic breakfast, then drove the short distance to Wolf Creek.
Superhero Night in Provo Utah
For a girls’ night one Friday night, my roommates and I dressed up as superheroes—not specific ones, you understand, but ones we made up. That’s right. We went shopping for outfits at DI and Charlotte Russe, looking for gaudy gold jewelry, crazy tank tops and belts, short skirts and leggings, and yes, even capes.
